  • Gong Puja lasts for 7.5 hours, ending at 7:30 a.m. New Year’s Day.

  • Create your “bed” and sleep through the night as our very own Alan Hostetter and his talented team of Gong players* from all over Orange County will take turns softly playing the Gongs while you sleep, allowing gentle waves of vibration to wash through you throughout the night, releasing stagnant energy and opening pathways to self-discovery.

Reiki Ryoho Master
Certified Yoga Teacher
200h Certified Breathwork Facilitator
Crystal Bowl Practitioner

What drew Nicole to the gong?
“I love the gong's rooting, healing vibrations. I was immediately connected to the strong but calming energy and sound of the gong, and noticed I was more present in mind and body after a gong bath. Though I also love playing crystal bowls, to me, the gong is unmatched in it's soothing power, especially for those of use who benefit from root chakra healing. I was drawn to learn how to play this ancient instrument with the intention to help others in the way the gong has helped me.”

“I first heard the gong while in Kundalini yoga teachers training... I cried and cried, and though I had no idea why I cried, I felt in my heart that something was released and healed.... I knew I had to learn more and get one... and I’ve never stopped loving it... my gong is named Pearl, after my Mom....”

She was drawn to the Gong and the healing it awakened within her during her Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training. It sometimes relaxed her, inspired her, made her cry, or energized her. The power of the gong brought her to her knees and she immediately knew she had to study, share, and teach it as part of her yoga and healing practice. What was it that initially drew Arjan to playing the gong?
"As a practicing sound healer initially using Tibetan singing bowls and in my search for even deeper vibrational instruments, research proved the gong provided healing at the cellular level. During gong training, I was exposed to all the Planetary gongs. Although I have since incorporated other highly vibrational instruments, such as Gemstone Crystal singing bowls, the Gongs are still the true Stars.”

Jill Russell

Visiting all the way from England for the Gong Puja, Jill has worked within the ‘Wellness’ industry for 30 years and experienced all facets of wellness - some real; some less ‘real’. She was drawn to her current project in Cornwall, England because of the peace and vibrational energy there. As a result, her spiritual journey brought her to her true passion and calling. Jill was blessed to have trained with Don Conreaux and Aiden Mckintyre becoming a Gongmaster. Jill also plays the Tibetan and Crystal bowls.

What drew Jill to the gong?
Once Jill experienced the Gong, she felt so strongly about it that she was drawn to playing it. She believes the Gong is the jewel of the universe and it awakens all in its path. Jill feels that the Gong plays her rather than the other way around. She feels it speaking directly to her soul and resonates within every cell of her body and strengthens her Reiki.

Alan Hostetter

@alphayogaoc

200 Hour registered yoga teacher
Certified meditation teacher (100-hour)
Certified sound healer (100-hour)
Gong Master and Usui Reiki Master.

Alan came to Yoga later in life after spending 4 years in the Army and 24 years in local law enforcement. His entry into the world of Yoga was in an effort to heal and recover more quickly after two spinal surgeries. His healing was so complete and his experience so positive, that after a few years of practicing, he knew he wanted to teach and share this healing modality with others. As Alan began to teach yoga, he quickly developed a reputation as not only a yoga teacher, but also as a relaxation specialist as he began to lead his students through guided meditations, yoga nidra, energy work (Reiki), and sound healing. Alan learned to play his first instrument, the didgeridoo, at the age of 51, proving that you really never are too old to learn a “new trick!” He now plays multiple ancient healing instruments and offers sound healing events throughout Orange County and beyond.

In addition to being a registered yoga teacher, Alan is also a certified meditation teacher (100-hour), certified sound healer (100-hour), Gong Master and Usui Reiki Master. He teaches in studios, the San Clemente Senior Center, and privately throughout South Orange County. You can find Alan’s website and schedule at alphayogaoc.com. Alan has also created his own YouTube channel dedicated to meditation, sound healing, and all things supporting sleep.

What drew Alan to playing the Gong?
Alan’s first experience with the Gong was during the Yoga Teacher Training program. When the instructor started playing, Alan almost immediately went into a dream state and had what felt like an “out of body experience.” He knew there was something so special about this instrument, he just had to own one and learn how to play. This led to offering gong baths and sound healing events on a regular basis throughout Orange County. He was motivated to deepen his study of the Gong and recently attended 10 days of Gong Master Training in England this past summer. The Gong is Alan’s absolute favorite sound healing instrument to play. It’s power and healing effects are unmatched in Alan’s opinion.
